Swiss, Geneva, Nicole Freres, 6-Tune music box, separate key wound from left side, in a box with rosewood graining to front and sides and with a mahogany veneered lid with shell inlay. C.1855
CONDITION:
overall good and as found condition. There is some damper noise, however all 110 +/- teeth are intact and the tunes are lively and clear. The founder of this firm, Francois Nicole, brought many refinements to the mechanical music box that improved the overall clarity and sound. For ref see "The Music Box", 1984, Graham Webb (page 20).
